Releasing June 2005, issue #23 featured the work of 20 lawyer poets. Law is a type of language, so it’s no surprise that many lawyers fall in love with verse. James R. Elkin’s helped us compile the tribute section, and he introduces it with an essay about his obsession, which led to the Legal Studies Forum.

Also in the issue, Alan Fox interviews Alan Shapiro and David St. John. In the essay section, Jose Edmundo Ocampus Reyes writes about the orientalism in Mary Oliver’s “Magellan.”
