September 17, 2016Windlight Moon
The air breathes to wind
light grazes the moon.
The flower, half-full and thistle.
The wind blows softly
the trees bow down
and the grass
the grass is deep.

Why do you like to write poetry?
“I first liked writing poetry because of the rhythm. I memorized and recited poems and verse. I especially liked the haiku my dad would read to me. They made me feel like I was in a far-off place. Writing poetry is a great way to let people know what you’re thinking or feeling. But most of all, I like writing poetry because it’s fun.”
