      Demetrius Buckley

“I am a writer who happens to be incarcerated in Michigan Corrections and with that knowing I have been collecting a singular view amongst individuals, the unheard who trial-and-error out their lives. ‘The We’ fell on me during my walks on a prison yard, watching and learning anecdotes to how we all started from a punitive action, whether it be in the system or working for the system. It took me some time to see outside of this infrastructure, this business that doesn’t involve rehabilitation, but gains off of taxpayer’s income. ‘The We’ is a world within itself and is only seen from within itself—up until now.”
